Our Story

Sam planted the first thornless blackberry plants twelve years ago and Ahtanum Berry Patch began.

The beautiful blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries inspired Katie and her daughter Naomi to bake the first Triple Berry and Strawberry Rhubarb pies.  Anna joined her family to spread the word through marketing and sales.  Along the way, loyal customers have inspired them to continue expanding the menu in the bakery and experiences on the family farm in Yakima, Washington.

Farmers' markets, Home & Garden and Sportsmen shows, and other seasonal events, have been places to meet vendors and dedicated customers.  Increasingly over the years, those same customers have traveled to the berry patch to visit the small 10-acre farm on the Ahtanum Ridge. 


Today they continue to create a space where community and memories grow.  Customers often marvel that every time they visit there is something new.  2023 was a year of massive growth, thanks to the wonderful team in the kitchen, the incredible sales team on the road, and the dedicated crew who keep the berry fields and farm beautiful year-round. The family and staff at Ahtanum Berry Patch Bakery invite you to visit the bakery year-round, enjoy local berries May - October, or make memories of Upicking and other seasonal events.
